Article I.
Name
The name of this organization shall be the MICHIGAN JUNIOR SIMMENTAL
ASSOCIATION.
Article II.
Mission
|
The main objectives of the
MICHIGAN JUNIOR SIMMENTAL ASSOCIATION (MJSA) are: |
1) To
improve an develop the capabilities of youth, both
individually, and through group participation, in breeding,
raising, exhibiting and promoting Simmental cattle.
2) To encourage high moral character, sportsmanship and
clean living among its members. |
Article III.
Membership
Membership is open to any
youth in the state of Michigan, between the ages of 7 and 21 as of Dec.
31. of the current year.
A membership year shall begin on Jan. 1 and end on Dec. 31.
Annual dues shall be $5 per youth.
Dues shall be paid between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28 each year.
Article IV.
Officers and Directors
The Junior Board shall
consist of a %President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasure, Jr.
Secretary and four Trustees.
Candidates for Officers and Trustees will be nominated by the membership
at an annual meeting, followed by election by secret ballot.
There shall be 3 adult advisors for the MJSA. One will be appointed by
the Michigan Simmental Association (MSA). The other two, elected by the
Junior Board, may be Simmental breeders or parents of youth members.
Article V.
Meetings and Voting
There will be 4 Board
Meetings per year. These meetings shall be open to all MJSA members and
all MSA members.
All voting shall take place at the 4 Board Meetings and the Annual
Meeting.
A quorum shall consist of 6 of the 8 members of the Junior Board.
Article VI.
By-Law
Amendments
The Junior Board shall have
the power to amend the By-Laws ‘of this organization by a 3/4 majority
vote.
Any amendments to the By—Laws shall become effective within 30 days,
after such a change is published and all members are notified.
Any amendments made by the Junior Board may be suspended if the
Secretary/Treasure receives a petition signed by 10% of the membership
within 60 days from the date of notification of the amendments. |
