For the first
time in many years, Bridle Bit Simmentals, (ASA#4086) which is raised in
the short grass country of extreme southeast Colorado, actually enjoyed
a full summer grazing season of green pastures thanks to good timely
moisture. The BBS wean weights always seem to be above average because
of good genetics, but with Mother Nature’s help the calves really did
well. Bridle Bit’s goal is to produce quality cattle that perform well
and looks good doing it. BBS replacement heifers and prospective breeding bulls are selected based on performance data, visual appraisal and disposition. Bulls are sold exclusively by private treaty, relying heavily on word of mouth and reputation for promotion. Any progeny that does not meet the selective criteria which is to avoid extremes, with emphasis placed on calving ease, are placed in the BBS feedlot and sold on the grid to US |

Premium
Beef. This years calves earned the Cook’s a total of $52 premium per
head. Carcass data results were as follows: 77% graded choice or higher,
10% graded prime and 66% were yield grades 1 and 2. All carcass data
gathered is submitted to the ASA. Bridle Bit Simmentals is enrolled in ASA’s “THE” program. Complete individual data is gathered on each and every calf. BBS has used embryo transfer to preserve genetics from their top producing females and utilize the ASA’s planned mating in their AI program. Bridle Bit genetics have been spread all over the USA and Canada because of their involvement in the Wild Wild West Sale. BBS trust you will fi nd our sale heifers worth your time and consideration. All offering has tested negative for PI-–BVD. The Cook family, was forced to face and travel an unexpected road in 2009. Gayle was diagnosed with infl ammatory breast cancer. It took her nine months to complete the chemo treatments, surgery and radiation, all of which she tolerated very well. Cancer is a family disease that not only touched Gayle and Erroll but their three sons, Chad (wife Kristi), Brent (wife Heather) and Brad. Their grandchildren, Christopher, Darin, Montana, Austin and Dakota took on extra duties to help out. The entire family has been truly blessed by all the concern, love and support they have received during this journey. “The Bridle Bit Gang” |
