Bridle Bit Simmentals

Bridle Bit Simmentals missed seeing everyone at last year’s sale. A gigantic snow storm prevented us from bringing our consignments to the 2007 sale. This storm paralyzed a good portion of Colorado and the deep snow covered the rural communities for a long time. With snow at lease three foot deep on the level, taking care of cattle was indeed a long, exhausting and difficult job. Most of our livestock were on stock pasture just three miles of town and it still took us from sun up to sun down to feed and water the cattle. Our community came together like a small community will do and helped each another plow open paths to family farms and livestock alike. We feel fortunate that Bridle Bit didn’t have any death loss but most ranchers were not so lucky. Because of that snow, our country had the best wheat crop we have had in years and green pastures, at least until July. We appreciate our fellow consignors

picking up the slack in our absence and we regret not having the chance to share our consignment with last year’s buyers.

Bridle Bit continues to produce livestock that excels in all aspects of the industry. Our bulls, sold by private treaty, continue to produce “sale topper” calves that our commercial customers sell at premium prices. Our fats continue to produce high quality carcasses above plant averages which result in premiums. BBS females are the kind that will produce quality offspring that calve easy and produce individuals that demand attention in the show ring or sale ring, not to mention the attention the calves get from those just driving by the pastures.

Bridle Bit Simmentals are born and raised in extreme southeast Colorado. After thirty-eight years the
Cook family, Erroll and Gayle Cook and sons, Chad & wife Kristi, Brent & wife Heather, and Brad remain committed to producing quality livestock that perform well and look good doing it! The next generation of Cooks, Christopher (15), Darin (11), Montana (9), Austin (6) and Dakota (6) do their share of helping and have been very successful with their 4-H market and breeding projects.

	Bridle Bit Miss T709 ASA #2388900 Double Polled & Homozygous Black We have had our eye on this heifer all summer. Moderate framed with the right kind of muscle expression. It is hard to fault her 120 API with an excellent birth weight to yearling spread. T709 does not appear to be a Jr. heifer project at this time.

	Bridle Bit Miss T716 ASA #2388893 Double Polled & Red Cattlemen will like this heifer! This individual is an EPD jackpot in an exceptional phonotypic package. Our philosophy is to produce females sound in their structure with a lot of capacity combined with rock solid numbers. T716 is a full sister to Lot________ out of our F619 donor cow. She has it all!

	Bridle Bit Miss T720 ASA #2388889 Double Polled & Homozygous Black A typical Goldmine daughter, moderate in size with lots of depth in a stylish package. Her dam did a nice job with her first calf under dry grass conditions. T720 will look better every day.

	Bridle Bit Miss T724 ASA #2388885 Double Polled & Red Wow! Red Label did just what we wanted with this mating. We used him on many percentage Red Angus cows to add growth and overall thickness. T724 indexed number one in her contemporary group (115) at weaning. She has a sweet disposition, making her even more attractive.

	Bridle Bit Miss T733 ASA #2388877 Double Polled and Homozygous Black A feminine Goldmine daughter out of a first calf heifer. T733 goes back to the same cow as Lot #________. She’s looking better everyday!

	Bridle Bit Miss T779 ASA # 2388831 Double Polled & Heterozygous Black We thought long and hard about parting with this ¾ daughter of Legacy. T779 is a super fancy profiling heifer that has more spring and depth of rib than most Legacy’s. She will be an eye catcher lot sale night.

	Bridle Bit Miss T787 ASA #2388823 Double Polled & Heterozygous black Here’s that April show heifer you might be looking for. Sired by our herd bull, Bridle Bit Mr P425, T787 is super stylish, straight topped and thick quartered when viewed from behind. Her awesome hair is another positive about this offering.
