Miss Black Empress
Daughter of Burns Cow Y765 and BW
Black Shadow. Empress has had a powerful show career and has gone on to produce three Iowa
State Fair Champions. Her first heifer out of Tailer Made was the 4-H Champion Simmental
heifer in 1996. Her second calf by Premonition was FFA Champion Bull. And her third, by
Meyers Red Top, was 4-H and Open Show Champion. |
Empress's own
show career included the championships at the following shows: North Central Regionals,
Illinois Beef Expo, IJBBA Summer and Winter Expos, Iowa State Fair 4-H Show, Calf and
Senior Champion at the American Royal.
Empress has been successful in the flush program producing a large number of
embryos each time. She is owned with Larry Drake. |

Drake Freedom
A tremendous female out of "765" and Red
Top and is a maternal sister to Empress. Freedom dominated Denver as a calf, winning the
Jr. show and was Calf Champion in the Open Show. The following year in Denver she was
Reserve in the Jr. show and won the Senior Division in the open show. At the AJSA
Regionals she was named Champion and also won the Iowa Winter and Summer Expos. Freedom is
co-owned with the Drake Family. |

Black Agatha
A donor cow that we fell in love with at the
G&L Dispersal Sale. This cow is a homozygous black powerful female. Agatha has
produced over $70,000 in offspring including Triple C's Savannah and Dan and Diane
Thompson's Savannah Too. This cow has worked very well in the flush program producing a
large number of fertile embryos each time. Agatha is co-owned with Drake Simmentals and
Larry Lucas. |

Empress' Lady
Daughter of Miss Black
Empress and Meyer's Red Top. This black smooth polled female has had quite a show
career. She was named Champion heifer at both the summer and winter IJBBA Expos and Supreme Champion over all breeds at the summer show. Empress' Lady was a
division winner at the AJSA South Central Regional and Reserve Champion at the the
National AJSA Summer Classic in Columbus, Ohio. At the Iowa State Fair, she
was the 4-H Supreme Champion Breeding Heifer and was Champion
Simmental Female in the open show. |
