About the author The author Rich Krosch was raised on a farm near Elmore, Minnesota. This rural background, coupled with his love of raising livestock, horses and cattle in particular, has inspired his writing. He writes in the classic cowboy poetry style featuring rhymed couplets. His material is easily understood and appreciated by the common folks who work the land and enjoy country life.

Rich’s stories are often humorous, sometimes thought provoking, and always enjoyable to read. If you love the country, John Wayne, and old cowboy movies—if you enjoy a grilled steak, and relish drinking fresh, pure water from the same well your grandfather drank from—you will love reading the prose and poetry written by Rich Krosch.

Take Me To Blue Earth

Take Me To Blue Earth is a collection of short stories covering six generations of the Krosch family.  The saga starts when the family crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Germany and it continues to  modern times.  In this, his first book of short stories, Rich has again excelled in using the same humor and wit found in his poetry.  He takes us to days gone by when his family came to Blue Earth, Minnesota, and tamed the land and animals they found there.

“Take Me To Blue Earth is an enchantingly reminiscent collection of simple, yet surprising stories.  It captures the multi-generational charm of a Minnesota family in ways most of us enjoyed hearing from our own grandparents.  From renegade muskrats to bunking with the Jessie James gang, this is a family history rich in entertainment value.”  Julie Hlas, Kingsley News Times.

“Great book—the kind that you like to sit in your favorite chair and enjoy slowly.  Rich Krosch is tremendous.  This is a wonderful and entertaining collection of stories and poetry about the ordinary life of cattlemen, ranchers, and rural vets.  If you are a real cattleman—someone who’s done breeding, calving, marketing, or showing—then you’re REALLY going to enjoy this book.  This collection will make a wonderful gift or a treasured copy for yourself.”  Mindy Trede, CEO of the Iowa Beef Expo.
