Spring Sale … The 2007 MSBA Spring Sale will be Saturday, March 31st in conjunction with National Polled Shorthorn Congress. The sale will start at 11:00. This year’s sale will be held at the MSU Pavilion during the 2007 Michigan Beef Expo, March 30th -April 1st. The Michigan Lassie and Shorthorn Association will once again be holding their silent auction. Don’t miss your chance to purchase some great homemade treats. And if you’d like to donate an item but will be unable to attend the event, call a local member that will be going or contact Glenda Braman at (989) 838-2249 and she may be able to help get it there. An all-breed social (Expo Exchange) following the judging of supreme champion bull and female will take place about 4pm on Friday. The Shorthorn Lassie association will also be having a social after the show on Friday afternoon. Look for information on location. We are currently working on having a frozen sale during the 2008 spring sale. If you have any embryo’s, flushes, or semen that you think may be a good addition to this sale, plan ahead for next year and call Jacob Braman today for more information! 517-543-1112. Other events for the weekend include the Expo Trade Show which opens at 9 o’clock each morning and the Block & Bride Junior Heifer and Steer Show on Sunday. Nick Hammett will be doing a presentation on cross breeding programs. This will take place about 3pm on Friday March 30th. Frank Stoltzfus of Masonic Village will be presenting on freezer beef markets. This is scheduled for Friday and will begin at approximately 1:00pm. National Polled Shorthorn Congress catalogs will be sent out the second week in March. If you do not receive one, please contact Jacob Braman at (517) 543-1112. The all-breed catalog will be mailed out on or about March 9th but they are usually mailed via third class mail. So, if you’re still needing a catalog give one of our representatives a call. |
