2008 Scholarship Application
|
Description:
2-$250 and 2-$500
scholarships (quantity and amount may vary
from year to year at the board's
discretion.)
Eligibility:
a. All high school seniors or post
seniors currently in their first year thru
their 3" year of higher education are
eligible to apply. b. Family must be a current member of EWBPP
as of January 1 or a buyer in the last two years. c. Applicants majoring in any
professional-technical, vocational college
or training equivalent of at least one school year in
length. Minimum Requirements: a. Letter of recommendation (employer,
teacher, school advisor, etc. not parents) b. Application c. If selected must show proof of enrollment
by the school you will be attending while
using this scholarship. Payment will be made after
the first semester is completed. Comments: a. All scholarship forms and letters of
reference must be received by any person on
the scholarship committee or an EWBPP board
member by March 1st of applying year
and will be notified of the results by May
1st. b. Scholarships will be paid in the name of
the school or the school recipient after the
first semester. Recipients must contact the
Treasurer of EWBPP with the following information by December 15:
proof of completion of the first semester, a complete and accurate address to send the
payment the recipient student id number the date the payment is due a photo to be used for the website
announcement of the scholarship winners
Any question regarding this scholarship
should be directed to an EWBPP board member or scholarship director.
Completed applications must be postmarked

2007 Winners |
|
Jolene
Kohlwey:
Jolene graduated from Lutheran High School in 2006
and will be attending UW-River Falls as a Sophomore
in September 2007 studying Agriculture Business.
Parents Doug and Betty have a 321 acre dairy and
beef operation and are charter members of the
association. Jolene has been on the honor role all
4 years of high school, National Honor Society,
Student Council Delegate and on the basketball and
volleyball teams. She was a 4-H member involved in
the Beef and Horse & Pony project as well as plants,
home environment, stenciling and stamping. Jolene
was a member of the 1st place State
judging team and competed at the N.A.I.L.E. in
Louisville with the team placing 11th.

Krista
Matter: Krista is a 2004 graduate of Hilbert
High School and is currently attending Lakeland
College. Her major is Elementary Education grades
1-8 with a minor in Broadfield Science. Parents
Gary and Jeri have an 80 acre farm where they raise
Simmental and Crossbred cows, heifers and steers and
Shropshire and Commercial sheep and are members of
the association. Krista has been a 4-H member, for
12 years, Superior Honor Roll, Peer Helpers, SADD
and volleyball for 4 years, TATU for 3 years,
Yearbook-2 years, Yearbook Editor, forensics,
National Honor Society, Senior class Vice president,
basketball and track for 1 year. Her hobbies are
being involved with 4-H working in the Lakeland
education department, helping with summer school,
teaching Sunday school, and helping on the farm. |

Whitney
Rathke: Whitney will graduate from Random Lake
High School in June 2007 and will be attending
UW-Platteville pursuing a degree in Agri-business.
Parents are Steve and Jackie have a 100 acre farm
and rent another 89 acres raising about 30 head of
beef animals and are charter members of the
association. Whitney has served as officer in FFA,
4-H, NHS and SADD. Her hobbies and interests also
are well-served and she has been active in music,
theater, as well as sports being involved in
basketball, volleyball and track and field. She was
part of the state judging team from Wisconsin and
represented the state in the National FFA Livestock
Judging Contest in October as well as being a
regular participant in various cattle shows
throughout the years. |

Andrea
Boehlke: Andrea will graduate from Random Lake
High School in June 2007 and will be attending
UW-Stevens Point pursuing a degree in
Communications/Theatre Arts. Parents are Royal and
Linda who farm 1000+ acres raising beef cows and
feeders, hogs, horses and game birds and are charter
members of the association. Andrea is involved in
FFA and 4-H serving as officer and was class
treasurer for 2 years. She was also in the NHS and
SADD and Newspaper Editor 2 years. Her hobbies and
interests include theater, music, Horse speed
racing, hunting and Vacation Bible School helper.
She was part of the state judging team from
Wisconsin and represented the state in the National
FFA Livestock Judging Contest in Indiana this fall
as well as being a regular participant in various
cattle shows throughout the state. |

Cheryl
Jeske: Cheryl is a 2005 graduate of Sheboygan
Falls High School and will be attending UW-River
Falls as a Sophomore majoring in Agriculture
Engineering Technology. Her parents, David and
Donna raise registered Maine-Anjou on 120 acres and
are charter members of our organization. Cheryl is
in FFA and 4-H, is active on the general Livestock
committee and manager of the greenhouse at Sheboygan
Falls High School as well as receiving a
volunteering award and the Gold Beef Proficiency
award and organizing the biggest fundraiser. She
was coach of Livestock Quiz bowl team and will go to
Nationals in Nebraska this year after winning the
state contest. She likes basketball and softball and
was a member of the Spanish Club at Oostburg. |

Theresa Jeske: Theresa is a 2004 graduate of
Oostburg High School and will be a Senior at
UW-River Falls in the fall of 2007. She is the
daughter of David and Donna, charter members of our
organization who raise registered Maine-Anjou on 120
acres, and her major is Animal Science with a Meat
Animal Emphasis. Theresa was active in 4-H and FFA
as a officer and was a member of the General
Livestock Committee, competed in the State judging
team 7 times, placing in the top three teams each
year. She is also very involved with the Block &
Bridle Club, Feed Clinic Speaker for the beef
project in Marathon County, and Ag Technology
Contest Volunteer for 2 years as well as being a
member of the Spanish Club. Theresa also is a
member of the UWRF Academic Quadrathalon and a
officer of Delta Theta Sigma Little Sisters. She
enjoys horse-back riding, softball, rollerblading,
is a member of the National Maine-Anjou Association
and the National Simmental Association, and is
involved with the REINS therapeutic riding programs. |
